Welcome to JuneeB Designs!
I have been going back and forth, experimenting with sewing, continuing my knitting, pretty much abandoning graphic design (I know what I’m good at, and what I’m not) and photography. There are only so many hobbies a person can take while working a full time job. I would like to finish what I start, and get my store up and running.
I tried the Etsy thing. I tried selling on Facebook. The only real success I had was at holiday markets, making face-to-face sales. However, my day job tends to keep me from my sewing machine more than I care to admit, and it’s time for me to finally get my business in gear, get serious, and create.
A little background about myself, I’ve been crafty since I was a kid. My aunt taught me how to knit and crochet, and I eventually taught myself how to sew. (YouTube is a wealth of completely amazing tutorials, and cat videos.) I don’t crochet as much as knit anymore, I’m not very thrilled with the texture of the fabric created - I think it’s too utilitarian, not very delicate (with the exception of lace), and ultimately stiff and bulky. I love to knit though, and I’m constantly learning more techniques, starting more projects than finishing. I love sewing if the project is quick and simple to learn. It’s an intense feeling of accomplishment knowing that anything I create is everyday useful - meaning it’ll be immediately utilized, not just sit around collecting dust.
I like to create, I like to design, but my attention span only goes so far. My patterns are specifically created to thrill our short attention spans just enough to make something and feel productive without getting too bored or frustrated. My patterns will be available mostly a digital download for a small fee - please don’t be offended at that, I understand how awesome free patterns are. I would also like to get paid for my time and materials creating. When I feel I’ve broken even, I’ll post it for free.
This is mostly a commerce site, I don’t really feel much like blogging. I’m good at it, don’t get me wrong, it’s just the attention isn’t there. However, I will create a quarterly newsletter so you can keep informed of new items, designs, and patterns available.
